About Us

Our Story

In 1997, Jeff Randall and Mike Perrin founded Randall’s Adventure & Training to counter the hype in the survival industry with practical tools and knowledge. They initially worked with the Peruvian Air Force’s jungle survival school (ESSEL), training clients in the Amazon. Later, they moved operations to the U.S. and launched ESEE Knives to produce high-quality field gear.

ESEE Knives began with the RTAK, a design born from real-world field experience and originally produced by Wicked Knife Company, later by Ontario Knife Company. Jeff Randall and Mike Perrin also collaborated on the Laser Strike with TOPS Knives before spending five years developing the RAT line for OKC. Their journey led to the creation of ESEE Knives—now a globally recognized brand.

ESEE’s clientele spans special operations, rescue techs, hunters, law enforcement, and serious adventurers. Their gear and survival training have been featured by the Discovery Channel, Travel Channel, and top industry publications.

What sets them apart? A no-nonsense philosophy: respect the customer, price fairly, build what works, and never teach or sell anything that hasn’t been field-tested. Every ESEE product comes backed by a legendary warranty and a team that lives the life they teach—no fluff, just real-world performance.

What our customers say

I bought this for a garden tool because my daughter dropped my bark river in the tall grass and we were lucky to find it. I own several ESEE Knives and its nearly impossible to find any flaws in these knives.

I can't stop admiring this gorgeous knife. I've owned many different knives over the years (fixed and folders) but this one seems so well-made and designed. It feels awesome in my hand and has great ergonomics. Sharp as hell, too. I actually like the black finish. Some purists strip it off. I don't see the point as I like it being non-reflective. I chose the serrated blade, too, as I think it makes it more versatile for multiple cutting tasks…

It's an ESEE. It needs no further explanation. Everything ESEE is amazing. I highly respect this company. If you aren't familiar with this kind of quality, do yourself a favor and get this. It will be an eye-opener and instant education on what a high-quality knife feels like.

I have a few survival and bushcraft knives in different lengths. If I had to pick just one "do all knife" and throw it in a bug-out bag, this would be it. Razor sharp out of the box. Full-tang, high-quality knife for sure. Nothing wrong with sheath that comes with it but a knife this good deserves more than a piece of plastic wrapped around it, so I had a custom leather sheath made so I can carry it on my belt. Can't go wrong with ESEE Knives no matter what size you pick—believe me.

What's not to love about an ESEE knife? This is the second knife I've bought from them, and it will not be my last. This one is just about perfect for what I got it for…

Very high-quality knife and sheath. The sheath is thick plastic. Very durable. The knife is coated and came razor sharp. Grip is on the smaller side but its perfect for the blade weight and length. Makes a very good Battle Belt piece of kit. Or survival knife, etc. Too big for EDC IMHO. Opt for a flip Spiderco if that's what you want. It could potentially work for EDC if you aren’t concerned greatly about concealment.

They are excellent fixed-blade, full-tang knives; durable and sharp. I can recommend the ESEE-3 and the ESEE-4.

...If you're on the fence, I would recommend buying it. It’s worth the price tag for a made-in-the-USA blade, and the no-questions-asked warranty, you truly can’t beat it.

Overall, I would recommend this knife to my bestest friend. Not the most ergonomic knife, not cheap, but great quality steel that you will not be able to break/chip even if you try.
